Hauntings
by Dion Fortune
THERE are two forms of “haunting” which have to be considered, the one which is due to a discarnate soul who interferes with a particular person, and the one which is due to the conditions prevailing in a particular place, and which affects any person sufficiently sensitive who happens to go there. Except in cases where the influence is exceptionally strong, the insensitive person is immune. To perceive a “haunting” one needs, as a general rule, to be slightly psychic; it is for this reason that children and other more sensitive types suffer severely from such interferences.
Let us consider first of all the question of interference by a discarnate soul. It will be noted that I use the term “interference” and not “attack.” The disturbance need not necessarily be an attack, any more than the drowning man who clings to his rescuer and drags him under is motivated by malice. The entity that is causing the trouble may be a soul that is itself in distress on the Inner Planes, and is too ignorant of post mortem conditions to know the harm it is doing by clinging so desperately to the living. It is for this reason that the wide dissemination of Spiritualistic teachings is of value, for it helps to relieve the tension between this world and the next. (more…)

Mental Illness: Dark Force Influences? ~ Part II
by Jerry Marzinsky BA M.ED
Patient Recovery Techniques
Schizophrenic patients need to learn to distinguish between their thoughts and those inserted by their voices. The general rule is to assume that every negative thought about themselves or others comes from these parasitic entities.
Usually, the patient’s first attempt to cope with their voices is to ignore them. This, however resulted in the voices getting louder. I counseled them not be block them but to watch those thoughts from a distance rather than engaging them. Positive changes began to appear in the patient’s mental state once they learned how to do this. (more…)

Mental Illness: Dark Force Influences?
by Jerry Marzinsky B.A. M.ED.
When spirits begin to speak with man, he must beware lest he believe them in anything; for they say almost anything; things are fabricated by them, and they lie; for if they were permitted to relate what heaven is, and how things are in the heavens, they would tell so many lies, and indeed with a solemn affirmation, that man would be astonished.” ~ Emmanuel Swedenborg
Introduction
Since the dawn of civilization, a strange and malevolent affliction has stalked humanity; its etiology and elusive mystery.
Like a viper that strikes in the night, its approach is undetectable, its venom invisible, its presence evident only by the long trail of human carnage strewn in its wake.
It is an illness so horrific that one out of ten of its victims will kill themselves to escape it, while the remaining will die three times earlier than the rest of us. Its incidence is increasing.
At present, it is destroying about twenty-three million people a year world-wide. (more…)

Demonic Attacks And Mental Illness
by Jerry Marzinsky & Sherry Swiney
For tens of thousands of years, Schizophrenics have tried to tell physicians and the rest of us that the voices they hear are real. Attempts by these individuals to communicate their direct experience of this phenomenon have resulted in being shunned, labeled insane, drugged senseless, or locked up. Since inception, psychiatry and the medical establishment have miserably failed to find either a cause or cure for schizophrenia. Regardless, they ignominiously turn a deaf ear to the reports of those with the most experience and knowledge of this destructive illness: the schizophrenic patient.
Instead of coming to grips with the failure of their institutions and treatment methods, physicians continue to ram one false cause after another for this devastating illness down our throats. While feeding Schizophrenics unsubstantiated information about the cause of their illness, they also burden them with a dim prognosis and insist the voices are hallucinations. This in no way matches the actual experience of these individuals. They aren’t buying it, and neither are we. (more…)

Removal Of Dark Force Alignments
by William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
Many of the entities encountered in session with clients will appear to manifest characteristics, behavior and attitudes consistent with the demonic beings. Yet in the decision-tree questioning, they will claim to have a history as an embodied human. This may be an outright lie. Their presentation gives that clue. Another possibility is that a lesser demonic being was attached to a powerful human for an extended period of time. Like the Black slaves in the early decades of United States history who assumed the name of the owner, the entity assumed the identity of the person. It is simply an identification with a living human. (more…)

Spirit Release Therapy: Nested Attachments
by William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
An entity attached to a living person may be strong enough to prevent the host from going to the Light after death. The newly deceased spirit becomes earthbound with the original earthbound entity nested within itself. It is not at all unusual to find an entity with another entity attached. The second one nested inside the first might have a third nested within it, and so on. There is no limit to this chain of nested entities. An entity usually does not know about the ones nested inside itself.
A client may describe behavior which is uncharacteristic and be confused about it. The cause may turn out to be an attached spirit. An entity may describe uncharacteristic behavior or attitudes as it recalls its life. This may turn out to be a nested entity. A belligerent and hostile attached earthbound spirit which causes much strife and conflict in a person’s life often turns out to have a dark-energy being nested within. After the dark one is released, this earthbound is usually apologetic to the host and grateful to the therapist. (more…)

What Should Psychiatry’s Approach Be To Spirit Possession?
by Stafford Betty
Introduction
A great deal of Jesus’ ministry was devoted to exorcising ‘‘evil spirits’’ or ‘‘demons.’’ Seven specific accounts in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke) show him casting them out of their human victims. All over the Third World right down to the present day, ‘‘spirits,’’ both good and bad, are taken for granted as realities that share our world and sometimes must be dealt with. Exorcisms are commonplace throughout South and Southeast Asia, Central and South America, and sub-Saharan Africa; and there is no place in the world where they are unknown. Before the Communist Revolution, casting out evil spirits in China was a normal part of a Taoist priest’s job. In the United States, according to Catholic theologian Malachi Martin, there was ‘‘a 750 percent increase in the number of Exorcisms performed between the early 1960s and the mid-1970s’’ (Martin, 1992, p. xviii). And in England, according to Dom Robert Petitpierre, editor of the Anglican ‘‘Exeter Report’’ on exorcism, ‘‘incidents of demonic interference . . . since 1960 have become ‘virtually an explosion’’’ (Malia, 2001, p. 66). Yet the vast majority of readers of this journal think that ‘‘spirits,’’ at least the kind that oppress or possess us, are not real. Indeed the very raising of the question, Do evil spirits molest us? seems to most of us like a return to the Dark Ages and might be greeted with derision. In a dreamlike state of delirium the agnostic Ivan, in Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov, yells at the devil, ‘‘No, you are not someone apart, you are myself, you are I and nothing more! You are rubbish, you are my fancy!’’ (Dostoevsky, 1957, p. 582). Doesn’t Ivan speak for almost all of us? (more…)

Protection From Psychic Attack
by Sue Allen
What is Psychic Attack?
Psychic attack is a very widely used term which is often misunderstood. It means that an external energy affects you in such a way that it has a detrimental effect on your sense of well-being. Our well-being includes our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual functioning and generally denotes a sense of harmony and balance in our lives. It is possible to see from this wide definition that psychic attack can therefore include environmental energy which causes us discomfort such as bright lights, noise and pollution. The other types of psychic attack come from living people and include psychic vampirism, witchcraft, curses, black magic, and thought forms. In all cases of psychic attack we need to look at the reason for the attack and take responsibility for why we have allowed it to affect us. It is essential to recognize that ultimately someone can only attack you if allowed to. This applies to all forms of psychic attack including both the intentional and the unintentional. I personally do not include spirit attachment or possession in this area for the sake of simplicity, although the presence of entities can clearly affect our sense of well-being. (more…)

Spirit Releasement Therapy: Who Am I?
by William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
Several friends attended a lecture on past-life regression, spirit releasement therapy, and recovery of soul fragmentation. After the lecture, we gathered at our friend Ed’s house for snacks and conversation. The subjects presented at the lecture were stimulating, sometimes threatening, and incredible to many. Ed had paid close attention during the entire lecture. Now he seemed lost in thought. He was contemplating the possibilities in his own life, considering his own big picture.
He was manager of a large municipal organization with many employees and widespread operations in the area where we lived. It was his job to understand and manage the “big picture.” Ed was deeply serious, even somber as he posed this question: “If all this is true, then who am I?” He had grasped the information in a way few people are willing to do. He was clear that it could, and most likely did, apply to himself, his personality, and his life choices. And he was concerned. I had to search my own experience to formulate a cogent response. Remote Spirit Releasement Therapy
by William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
Remote spirit releasement is done at a distance for another person. In other words, the person needing such assistance is not physically present in my office with me. The client in front of me acts as intermediary, a surrogate, on behalf of the target person, the one who needs the releasement work.
It is essential that the entity or entities attached to the target person not be invited or allowed to incorporate into, attach to, speak through, or control the surrogate, our client, in any way. The surrogate is not required to channel the entities. That would amount to inviting a possession of the person acting as the intermediary. Like a simultaneous translator at the United Nations, the surrogate relays the words of the entities once the intruders are discovered. (more…)

Causes of Spirit Possession ~ Part II
by Eugene Maurey
Psychic attack, whether it is spirit possession or comes in some other form, may happen to anyone at any time. The condition may come into being whether or not the victim has a knowledge of psychic activities. The problems may range from only a minor illness, a negative change in attitude to a complete change of personality. Unless the victim or someone near him can recognize the symptoms and seek help from a competent psychic, he is in serious trouble. With such help the psychic can unravel the causes of such infestation and correct the problem. Such help will restore the mind as well as improve the health of the patient.
There are two common roads to possession. The first is voluntarily asking a spirit to enter one’s mind. In most instances the victim does not realize that he cause this condition. His motive may have been sympathy, grief, need for companionship, or simply curiosity. No evil was intended. The second is a state of mind when a spirit enters without invitation. This is called an involuntary; it usually leads to serious problems for the victim as well as for those the victim influences. (more…)

Remote Depossession
by Irene Hickman
Introduction
There is a growing awareness among health professionals that it has become imperative to look beyond the traditional views of main-line psychology and medicine.
With a rapidly expanding body of evidence supporting the concept of personal survival of bodily death, we must now look beyond the narrow views of behavioral psychology and the chemical approach to health and disease.
This approach is not new. Alexis Carrel, M.D., discussed the need for better knowledge of man in 1935 in his book, Man, the Unknown.
“Men cannot follow modern civilization along its present course, because it is degenerating. They have been fascinated by the beauty of the sciences of inert matter. They have not understood that their body and consciousness are subjected to natural laws, more obscure than, but as inexorable as, the laws of the sidereal world. Neither have they understood that they cannot transgress these laws without being punished. (more…)

Soul Fragmentation Therapy ~ Part II
by William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
Shamanism is an ancient form of spirituality and healing practiced in indigenous cultures around the world. Soul retrieval is a shamanic approach to healing. In the tradition of shamanism, illness is an indication that the soul has vacated the body. The shaman enters an altered state of consciousness through the rhythmic beating of a drum or by ingesting a plant substance such as peyote or ayahuasca. The shaman is able to journey into the upper world, the lower world, or wherever the soul is located, to retrieve the soul and return it to the sick person, restoring wholeness and health.
In 1989, I heard a lecture on the work of Sandra Ingerman, as described in her book, Soul Retrieval. As the presenter described various forms of soul loss, it became clear to me that these conditions were a part of my practice that I had never recognized. Mind fragments of living people are sometimes discovered as attached entities, yet I hadn’t considered the other person who had lost the fragment. I found confirmation of this type of attachment in Ralph Allison’s book, Minds in Many Pieces, and Adam Crabtree’s classic work, Multiple Man. (more…)

Soul Fragmentation Therapy
by William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
William James, the father of American psychology, wrote there was “much alarmist writing in psychopathy about degeneration,” and he suggested that “if there were devils, if there are supernormal powers, it is through the cracked and fragmented self that they enter.”
Some attached entities claim to be human, to be alive in their own bodies and aware of the current date. They are not fixated in death trauma because they haven’t died. These entities are mind fragments of living people, attached to other living people.
Multiple personality disorder was considered rare in earlier decades, if not fictitious. Mental health professionals have been extremely skeptical about the diagnosis. In recent years, though, this disorder has been identified as a valid mental condition with specific causative factors, with typical progression of the disorder, that can be treated with some success. Spirit Releasement Therapy: Types of Possessing Entities ~ Part II
by Dr. William J. Baldwin
Thought Form
The thought form is a projection of consciousness. It can be in the form of an emotion such as anger, fear, or sadness. In this form, it can simulate an earthbound spirit in its effect on the host. As a thought form projected by a living person, it has no spark of God consciousness at its center, yet it seems to have consciousness, intelligence and purpose. It may have a mind fragment of the person who projected it.
Angie experienced what at first seemed to be an angry entity. Further probing revealed that in a past life she was a passenger on a sailing ship. The captain of the vessel was unscrupulous and attempted to force his affections on her, which she refused. Angry at her rejection, he pushed her overboard and she drowned at sea. His intense anger followed her as a thought form. In the session she forgave the captain. The thought form of his anger was dissolved by visualizing Light surrounding it.
A thought form can be a figure of some sort—for example, an imaginary playmate or protector that a child might wish into existence. A sorcerer, witch or black magician might conjure a spirit helper called a familiar spirit. The familiar spirit can be sent out to do the evil bidding of the conjurer. The thought form is connected to the conjurer by a cord of consciousness. A thought form can persist through lifetimes of its host. Since it is created by the sorcerer, it has no history, no memory of existence, prior to being conjured. Conscious beings are created by Source and can recall the experience of the Light. (more…)
