The Pythagorean Theory Of Music

Harmony is a state recognized by great philosophers as the immediate prerequisite of beauty. A compound is termed beautiful only when its parts are in harmonious combination. The world is called beautiful and its Creator is designated the Good because good perforce must act in conformity with its own nature; and good acting according to its own nature is harmony, because the good which it accomplishes is harmonious with the good which it is. Beauty, therefore, is harmony manifesting its own intrinsic nature in the world of form.
The universe is made up of successive gradations of good, these gradations ascending from matter (which is the least degree of good) to spirit (which is the greatest degree of good). In man, his superior nature is the summum bonum. It therefore follows that his highest nature most readily cognizes good because the good external to him in the world is in harmonic ratio with the good present in his soul. What man terms evil is therefore, in common with matter, merely the least degree of its own opposite. The least degree of good presupposes likewise the least degree of harmony and beauty. Thus deformity (evil) is really the least harmonious combination of elements naturally harmonic as individual units. Deformity is unnatural, for, the sum of all things being the Good, it is natural that all things should partake of the Good and be arranged in combinations that are harmonious. Harmony is the manifesting expression of the Will of the eternal Good. (more…)

Fundamental Concepts: Energy And The Psychic Anatomy

The basic foundations of UN.AR.I.U.S. is Dr. Ernest L. Norman’s teachings. We’ll go over that; what are the bare bones, then we can drill down more a little later.
The main first foundation or fundamental concept is that everything is energy including all of us and it’s indestructible and it cannot be destroyed, just changing its form, so we have a dynamic condition, what we call infinite intelligence which most people might want to call God but we don’t have the personal God involved in our teachings. It is the infinite intelligence which permeates everything and is everything. So that is energy; it is the infinite God.
And then we have basically a concept of a psychic anatomy which people would refer to it as a spiritual body: the soul. A lot of people think of it as the soul or we call it the psychic anatomy or psychic body that resides in another dimension. So what we see in our physical life is just the surface consciousness. It’s like the front end of a TV screen and the real part of us is in these higher dimensions; we call them multi dimensions or higher dimensions. The scientist is just now formulating theories about multi dimensions but these are energy relationships in vortexal forms of cycular motions where time is incorporated into the cycle and/or the vortex whereas in the third dimension everything is unidirectional or you know sinusoidal. It goes from one place to the other place and its time is separated out but in the 4th dimensions these psychic anatomies, all of us, reside with various experiences incorporated into our psychic anatomy from past life experiences and also this life. Reincarnation is controlled primarily by the law of karma, a manifestation of the universal law of cause and effect. The personality is subject to the various laws governing thought, emotion, energy, and form. For this reason it is never possible for the personality to escape the consequences set up by actions in the various substances of which [the many reincarnated] bodies are composed.
In the Gnostic school the permanent entity is called Anthropos, or the man. The incarnating ego which is emanated by the entity is designated Anthropos Son of Anthropos, the man that is the son of the man. The Astral Realm: Understanding Obsessive Entities

In the continuing study of the Astral World, it is necessary for us to discuss a most unpleasant Realm, but since it is largely the influences from this Realm which give to the astral its terrors and which bring to humanity its greatest horrors and suffering, it is most important that a thorough understanding of the conditions, and a practical method of how to master the influences, be spread abroad as widely as possible among students of the occult and those who are investigating conditions of life after death.
This Realm also known as the Desire Realm contains the grossest, most impure and degraded desires of those persons having sordid, earthly, but not necessarily impure or evil desires occupying the astral borderlands. This, therefore, is the Realm in which we find those who while on earth were murderers, habitual or periodic drunkards, criminals, procurers, profligates, prostitutes, degenerates, drug fiends, etc., together with those who secretly desired to give free rein to their passions and appetites, but who were restrained, not by a desire to be good and pure, but merely because their social, business or political position made it good policy. In this Realm, unhampered by any such considerations, they would find an opportunity for unbridled license and unlimited gratification of all their evil tendencies, provided they could find the necessary means for their expression. The Sasquatch Message To Humanity

Although some call him Bigfoot, Yeti, Yowie, Babaloo, Misabe, and a variety of other names, I call him Sasquatch, one of his most famous names, coming from the Coast Salish language of so-called British Columbia. I say “him”, because although this species of two-leggeds also has genders and families, the ones who choose to show themselves and interact with us Humans are most often wise older males, protectors of their tribe.
Two previous encounters and lots of research in different resources, including many accounts from Native traditions, had awakened my interest in this mysterious being. Two close encounters this Spring with direct communication, brought me many clear answers and teachings. (more…)

The Great Hum

Except when he was very much into the holy hum of things so that nothing could knock him off course, the Dalai Lama disliked meeting with foreigners. They obviously thought that he regarded himself as a holy man, and they insisted on treating him as such. Trying to compensate for this misapprehension on their parts, he would lean over backward to be casual, to make small talk, to show that he could be as common, superficial, and even vulgar as the next fellow. Since he was none of these any more than he was a holy man, he would chastise himself for putting on a phony hail-fellow-well-met act during visits, especially from Europeans.
After a visit with Europeans, the inner soliloquy which every good Buddhist hopes to be rid of once and for all would start up again, generated by the nagging question, Why do I always look for postures with these people? (more…)

The Philosophy Of Mastery
Wherever there is an art or science developed there are a certain number who excel in it through concentrating their efforts and focalizing their energies upon it. There are master craftsmen in every work in the concrete world. Having served long apprenticeship, their experience has given them a fine touch, a certain something undefinable yet ever present in those who are familiar with and in harmony with the labors they perform. Many people spend thousands of dollars and travel great distances over land and sea to study at the feet of a master craftsman. There are but few master artists, master musicians or true philosophers in the world at any one time and we respect and reverence these shining lights who stand before the world as the acme of human excellence. It matters little the line of the undertaking for there is as much science and art in driving a rivet as there is in painting a masterpiece. There is something in the soul of man that seeks perfection and the adjustment of human endeavor with cosmic possibility.
If these things be true in material living, as we see it is, then why is it not also true in spiritual matters? Are there not apprentices in the school of life as well as in shipyards and in shops? Are there not master craftsmen in spiritual things as there are among builders of bridges and hewers of stone? Are not the three grand divisions of human craftsmanship equally applicable to the sciences of the soul as to the sciences of wood and stone? There is no reason under the sun why they should not be and the true student of the science of being realizes that the analogy between human life and the divine plan is perfect. (more…)

The Meaning of “Christ” Versus “Jesus” ~ Part II

Now that we have made adjustments, may I speak a little more please. I believe I was talking about the progression of the individual through the various material planes of existence and about his acquiring such materialistic philosophies and knowledge as pertained to these dimensions, which will enable him to progress further in his evolution into the higher spiritual domains. In order that my remarks may not be misconstrued or erroneously interpreted, I do not advocate that a person should purposely set out to undergo sinful experiences with the idea in mind that such experiences will further advance his spiritual growth. Such is not the case. The determining element is what you think is sin or error. We say that the ordinary experiences in the material world are, in themselves, largely sinful. There are many things about you in your earth life which lead to guilt complexes. We could say that things which induce such complexes are sinful in nature. Because of the 
complexity in a concept of the food which mankind eats, one man says eat flesh; another says abstain and eat nothing but vegetables; others say this is good or that is not so good. As a result, you yourself become confused and you believe that your stomach is constantly upset by what you do eat. Consequently, you have a neurosis and you have suffered sin. We might say that the association of man and woman in the field called sex is also conducive of a great number of guilt complexes and neuroses. Each person has his own concept in regard to his conduct in the relationship of sex. No two people seem to be able to agree on one or more points in their own individual translations. The various conflicts in this field give rise to some of the greatest and most deep rooted of the guilt complexes of human nature. (more…)

Life As Cause And Effect

Forgiveness of Sin Versus Karma
The belief in the doctrine of the forgiveness of sin is entirely inconsistent with a recognition of the immutability of universal law. Either life is a series of fortuitous circumstances dominated by the principle of chance, or the law of consequence bestow upon each that which is merited by previous action. There can be no compromise; the human mind must accept either law or chaos, either pattern or confusion, as the rule of action.
Frequent efforts have been made to blend the doctrine of vicarious atonement with the laws of rebirth and karma. Ingenious explanations have been offered to prove that under certain conditions and for certain people law is tempered by grace. This is only wishful thinking, man’s old theological upbringing overshadowing his philosophical attainments.
It is well within the memory of modern students that various fabricators promised to make man mightier than the Law. It has been erroneously taught that karma might be overcome by breathing through the right nostril, meditating on the kundalini, or supplicating an adept. Various schools of metaphysical philosophy have built up huge followings by assuring human beings without the courage of their convictions that karma can be dissipated with a mantra, and that the whole character and temperament can be reformed by an affirmation.
