Reliving Atlantis

Take a moment to look at the screen you are currently using to read these words or the smartphone resting in the palm of your hand. We often view these devices as the pinnacle of progress, the very cutting edge of a 21st-century technological revolution that we assume is unique in the grand timeline of the Earth. There is a common belief that we are the very first civilization to successfully split the atom, harness the power of electricity, engineer complex flying machines, or create the beginnings of artificial intelligence. When we look back at the people of ancient Egypt, the Mayans, or the Greeks, we generally categorize them as primitive, seeing only stone tools and myths from which they saw their own reality. We often congratulate ourselves on our perceived brilliance, operating under the assumption that humanity has finally ascended to a height never reached before. (more…)

Past Life Relationships

by Thelma P. Freedman

In 1994 and 1995, Dr. Rabia Clark queried 136 experienced past-life therapists about their uses of past-life therapy, and she found that troubled relationships were the most common problem.

In past-life therapy, people often discover that a good or a bad relationship has its roots in a past life, and sometimes in more than one past life. Sometimes I ask the client during the regression if the person in the past life was really the same person, the same soul, or if there was just something about him or her that is similar to the person in the present relationship. The answers I get split about half and half between these two possibilities. Sometimes a client says that yes, it really is the same person; sometimes, it is something familiar about the present-life person that reminds him or her of the past-life person. (more…)

Phobias And Past Life Connections

by Thelma P. Freedman

Do you have a phobia? How many people do you know who do? Phobias may be the most common form of psychological “problem” in the world: Untold millions suffer from them. If you have one, you know all too well what it is. But for those of you who don’t, a phobia is an irrational fear of something that most other people do not fear: cats, perhaps, or water or caterpillars. The person with a phobia has little or no idea of what caused the phobia; if you ask, he or she will usually say, “Something in my childhood, I guess, but I don’t remember, I’ve just always had it.” (more…)

Past Life Therapy

by Irene Louis

I had been working as a hypnotherapist for two or three years when one client, whom I had been helping to regress back to the source of her problem, went spontaneously into a past life where she was drowning in a millrace, followed in quick succession by two more deaths by drowning and suffocation. You can imagine how I felt, sitting there on the edge of my seat, and praying that she was not going to die right here in this life. I fell back on my training that: 1. no one is ever sent more than she can cope with, and 2. never interrupt an emotional process, my own included at that point. I do not know who was more relieved when she had finished reliving (or perhaps redying is a better word) that episode but the outcome was such that she took a big step forward in her awareness and felt immediately lighter. The big stick, fear in case it happened again, and the carrot of curiosity impelled me to find out more, which ultimately entailed studying with Dr. Roger Woolger, an expert in the field of past life therapy (I seemed to have a fortunate knack for finding the best teachers.) Examples Of Past Life Incarnations

by Robert & Loy Young [using Young’s Past Life Regression Techniques]

Duane Leasenby’s case was chosen [to be relayed here] for two reasons. First, it reveals past lives on other planets. This is quite common. In fact, many people who come to us for regressions want to find out what planet they came from, because planet Earth seems somehow strange to them. In addition, Duane has been doing past life regressions for a long time; twenty years to be exact. He has found that he lived hundreds of times before. This coincides with Eastern philosophies which teach that we live about 800 times before we break the birth-death cycle. (Buddha supposedly recounted 550 of his past lives to his followers.) Also, Duane’s interview demonstrates the Law of Karma or Cause and Effect. Stated simply, this Law is epitomized in the Biblical passage: “You shall reap whatsoever you shall sow.” (more…)

Evolving Personalities Life After Life

Evolving-Personalities-Life-After-Life-mainby by Dr. H. Spencer Lewis

It would appear from what has been said in the foregoing pages that since man evolves a distinctly different or modified personality in each earthly incarnation, these personalities, being an attribute of the soul, would give to each individual on earth an aggregation of the personalities previously evolved.

In other words, if the soul upon entrance into the physical body at birth carries with it any remnant of the personality or personalities possessed by it through previous incarnations, each one of us would possess at the present time in the present incarnation an aggregation of personalities rather than a single one. Types Of Physical Karma – Part II

Types-Of-Physical-Karma-main-4-postby Ann Jaffin

. . . spirit taketh form in mind. Mind becomes the builder. The physical body is the result. 3359-1

Steven Lee Carson, a longtime A.R.E. member and friend in Maryland, was very surprised when an X-ray revealed some unexpected, physical karma. About thirty-five years ago, his dentist became so alarmed when he looked at an X-ray of Steve’s jaw that he sent him to a specialist for a consultation. Although there was no mark on his face, the X-ray showed a hole in his jaw about the size of a dime. The specialist said, “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you had been shot.” Thankfully, it was not cancerous, as was feared.

A few years later, a psychic told Steve that in a past life he had been a journalist in France. He had been murdered because someone thought that he knew too much and would talk. As a child in this life, he was so late in speaking that his parents took him to a doctor. Today Steve is a professional public speaker, journalist, and historian. He feels that the hole in his jaw may be the physical carry-over of a past-life wound, which also manifested emotionally in his childhood from the trauma of being shot for fear he would talk. Types Of Physical Karma

Types-Of-Physical-Karma-main-2-postby Ann Jaffin

Keep the physical fit that the soul may manifest the longer. 294-7

In her classic work on Edgar Cayce’s story of reincarnation and karma, Many Mansions, Dr. Gina Cerminara divided physical karma into three categories: boomerang, organismic, and symbolic. As the name indicates, boomerang karma is an action toward another person that rebounds to the originator of the action. Organismic karma occurs when someone misuses a bodily organ in one life and inherits difficulty with the same organ in another life. Symbolic karma is more subtle and is seen when a past-life wrong yields a more general, chronic, and illusive bodily challenge in a later life. As we explore examples of physical karma from the Cayce readings, we will see some examples of these three different types. (more…)

Lessons On The Law Of Cause And Effect: Karma

Lessons-On-The-Law-Of-Cause-And-Effect-main-4-postby Dr. & Mrs. F. Homer Curtiss

KARMA is the implacable Law of Cause and Effect, bringing to you in exact justice the net results of your past thoughts, desires and acts, but it does not do so in detail and hence is not the Nemesis it is so frequently represented to be.

“For the only decree of Karma – an eternal and immutable decree – is absolute Harmony in the world of Matter as it is in the world of Spirit.”

It is not your acts that are the cause of your Karma, but the possession or lack of certain Soul-quaIities which is the cause of your thoughts, desires and acts, whose effects are brought to you by the great Law of Harmony for readjustment. (more…)

Reincarnation: Familial Relationships

Reincarnation-Familial-Relationships-main-2-postby Helen Wambach

We meet someone for the first time and we are instant friends. We shake hands with a stranger and turn away with an unexplained feeling of dislike. Are we just reacting to such clues to similar tastes as the way the stranger is dressed, the expression on his face? Or does it go deeper; are these feelings echoes from the buried memories of our past lives?

I devised a set of questions to see how my subjects responded to the possibility that people in their lives now were known to them in past lives.

Fully 87 percent of all subjects responding to any of the questions [under hypnosis] about their future birth reported that they had known parents, lovers, relatives and friends who were known to them in past lives. Some had more detailed impressions than others, but there was little doubt that my subjects under hypnosis were aware of how they knew people in their lives now from past lives. (more…)

Reincarnation: A Study in Human Evolution

Reincarnation-A-Study-In-Human-Evolution-main-2-postby Theophile Pascal

It will soon be: 1500 years since the decision of the Council of 543 A.D. condemned to oblivion sublime teachings which ought to have been carefully preserved and handed down to future generations as a beacon amid social reefs; teachings that would have uprooted that frightful egoism which threatens to annihilate the world, and instilled patience into the hearts of such as were being crushed beneath the wheel of the cosmic law, by showing them the scales of Justice inclining to the side filled with their iniquities of bygone times; teachings which would have been welcomed by the masses, and the understanding of which would not have called for any lofty intellectual culture.

It was one of the greatest misfortunes that could have befallen the races of the West, more especially the European, that they were thus deprived for centuries of this indispensable knowledge. We look upon it as a duty, following on so many others, to offer it anew, this time in the clear, logical, illuminating form presented in theosophic teachings. The necessity thereof is all the more imperative when we consider the growth of skepticism and materialism amongst the more intellectual classes, whilst the mass of the people have forsaken their blind faith only to succumb to religious indifference. Reincarnation: Answering Unanswered Questions ~ Part II

Reincarnation-Answering-Unanswered-Questions-Part-IIby Irving S. Cooper

The chief purpose of reincarnation is education. To this end we are born again and again on earth, not because of any external pressure, but because we, as souls, desire to grow. The driving-power at the back of reincarnation, which brings us to earth again, is the thirst for experience, the desire for knowledge, the yearning to mingle in the throb and rush of physical existence. To many people, whose lives here have been rather difficult, these desires seem inconceivable. The reason is that satiety kills out desire; a man who has just eaten a hearty dinner has no desire to think of other meals. In the same way, at the end of an incarnation, it is to be expected that we should have little desire for rebirth. Furthermore, our waking consciousness is only a portion of our actual consciousness, and our deeper selves often realize the need of that for which our outer selves do not care. This is the case with reincarnation; the physical consciousness, limited in outlook to the narrow horizons of a single earth-life, does not desire to be reborn, but the soul consciousness, having a splendid goal in view, is anxious to return. Death And After

Death-And-After-main-2-postby Manly P. Hall

LIFE is more powerful then life and death itself” ~ by unknown

While in Manila I chanced to walk a short distance out into the country and stood for some time watching a slow-moving, mud-covered water bull dragging an antique plow through the ooze of a partly submerged rice field. Hour after hour the great animal waded through the mud, now and again shaking its massive head to free itself from the tantalizing swarms of flies. Behind the bull walked an aged Filipino, his tattered trousers rolled above his knees and his homespun garments bespattered with ooze and grime. To wade day after day through the half-inundated paddies constituted the life of the water bull; to follow with his hands upon the plow constituted the life of the man. (more…)

Yogic Philosophy: Discourse On Spiritual Evolution

Yogic-Philosophy-Discourse-On-Spiritual-Evolution-main-3-postby William Walker Atkinson

The beautiful doctrine of Spiritual Evolution, that gem in the diadem of the Yogic Philosophy is sadly misunderstood and misinterpreted, even by many who are its friends. The mass of uninformed people confuse it with the crudest ideas of the ignorant races of Asia and Africa – believe that it teaches that the souls of men descend into the bodies of the lower animals after death. And under the guise of high teachings regarding Reincarnation, many promulgate theories holding that the soul of man is bound to the wheel of human rebirth, and must live in body after body – whether it will or not – until certain great cycles are past, when the race moves on to another planet. All of these misconceptions, however, are based upon the real truth – they are the truth, but not the whole truth. It is true that the soul of a brutal, selfish, bestial man, after death, will be drawn by the force of its own desires toward rebirth in the body of some of the lower and more beast-like races of man – it has failed in its class work, and has been sent back to a lower grade. But the soul that has once reached the stage of even primitive Manhood, never can sink back into the plane of lower animal life. As bestial as it may be, it still has acquired something that the animal lacks, and that something it can never lose. And likewise, although the race – as a race – must wait until certain periods are reached before it may move onward, yet the individual who has risen beyond the need of immediate rebirth, is not compelled to reincarnate as a man of the present stage of development, but may wait until the race “catches up” to him, as it were, when he may join it in its upward swing, the intervening period being spent either in the higher planes of the Astral World or in conscious temporary sojourn in other material spheres, helping in the great work of the evolution of all Life. How Past Life Exploration Can Heal Your Life ~ Part IV

How-Past-Life-Exploration-Can-Heal-Your-Life-Part-IV-main-2-postby Denise Linn

Relationships

Perhaps more than any other clue, the dynamics of your relationships can offer powerful insights into who you were. We tend to subconsciously and symbolically recreate events from our far past, especially from those experiences that were never resolved. Every reenactment is a way to heal those unsettled situations. For example, when Moses and John were growing up, they were next-door neighbors. They were friends but Moses always tended to resent John, and for some reason John put up with it. One summer the two teens decided to go on a canoe trip together. As they paddled, their canoe overturned and Moses was caught in the current. John, at great effort – and almost at the expense of his own life – was able to rescue Moses.

From that point on their relationship almost magically transformed, and Moses no longer resented his friend. John later discovered that in a past life, they’d both been native South Americans. On a canoe trip during that lifetime, Moses had fallen out of the boat but John didn’t try to save him. Moses had drowned, which caused the lingering resentment in the present time. Reliving the original event shifted the dynamics between them. (Remember, it can be a symbolic or an actual reenactment of the situation. For example, if Moses felt that he was drowning financially and John had saved him, that also might have balanced the original karma.) (more…)
