The Nature of the Spheres

Joseph: I wish to explain a little today about the nature of the spirit realms. Everything, as I said in Revelation [reference to Joseph’s first book], is based on the concept of a circle – everything is circular, everything is contained within God and everything is an expression between the point at the center of the circle and the edge of the circle. All experience takes place within that sphere …and so it is in the spirit realms.

Therefore, if anyone asks you: “Where do you go to when you leave the earth plane?” – You go nowhere else. You don’t actually go anywhere; it is simply that your vibrations, as a result of your endeavors whilst inhabiting a physical body, elevate themselves to an extent that coincides with a level of ‘reality’ in one of these spiritual spheres. So, upon leaving the physical body, you gravitate automatically towards the sphere that resonates at the same frequency as the vibration that you display, having released yourself from physical matter.

If all spheres exist within the same framework and dimensions then travel between the spheres should be possible …and, of course, it is, but it is only totally possible in one direction, and in the other is restricted according to the evolution of the individual soul. What I mean by that is it is possible for an elevated soul to retrace his or her steps down through the spheres of denser, more intense vibration so that he or she can manifest within other spheres of ‘reality’. However, for the soul encased in matter and the soul that is leaving matter by physically dying to the earth plane, that soul can only approach those spheres that exist within the harmonics of its vibration. By that I mean that a soul can only visit the sphere that harmonizes with its soul-vibration and the spheres below that one. This goes some way to explaining why you can have spiritual messengers visit you from the higher spheres… From the highest, messengers can come, but from the lowest, the steps of spiritual evolution can only be climbed up to a certain point because, beyond that point, the spheres of existence are not yet open to that soul, until that soul, through various experiences, has raised its vibrations to be able to harmonize with those spheres.

I am also trying to explain the migration of souls and how souls have to experience a cleansing of each level of reality before they can move on to the next one. This is the underlying reason for the spiritual spheres – each sphere exists as a gradual ‘cleansing station’ for the soul living within it and wishing to move on from it. Each sphere has a specific purpose in cleansing so that eventually there is a movement from the spheres that co-exist within the same dimensions as a planet into the greater spheres.

The spheres of human spirituality exist within a greater sphere, and always you will see in microcosm what is happening in the greater world. In other words, if you look through a microscope, you see the same pattern as you do when you look out to the stars.

Within the vibration of the Earth exist the spiritual spheres of the spirit worlds that are talked about by those investigating spiritual reality. What I am trying to get across to you today (and is a difficult concept to put into words) is the fact that the spiritual spheres beyond (i.e. ‘above’ in terms of vibration) the Earth are not everything. They are not the Universe of spirituality; they are not the whole of the greater consciousness but are simply an area around and through this planet that allows escape to take place. I wish to say to you that your concept (if you have investigated spirituality and accept that there are spiritual realms) has to change because those spheres only apply to this particular journey back to God, and beyond those spheres exist greater spheres …and beyond those spheres exist even greater spheres!

You must not confine yourself (as we do not confine ourselves) with an image of the spirit worlds being all there is and being ‘Heaven’. The spirit worlds are a progression back into a greater reality, and that progression for individual souls may take thousands or millions of years as you measure time, but they are a small part of a greater and infinite journey. It is also supposed that, as you progress through the spiritual realms (as you understand them, thinking they are all) you are progressing back to God – and, yes, you are, but only to a small portion of God. God is so much greater than the experiences you will have as you move through the successive spheres into the greater spheres.

So, you can liken your journey back to the greater sphere (where, even then, you will only have touched minimally the true impact of God-consciousness) to the progression from child …to adult …to old age …and then moving on. Of course, you will not experience old age in the spiritual spheres but you are, nevertheless, on a journey that will change you. It will be a journey of growth and the experiences that you have initially as you pass over from the physical life can be likened to those of a child so that, as you reach into the greater spheres beyond the initial spheres, your understanding will be infinitely changed by the experiences you will have gone through. All of these experiences exist to prepare you for your re-entry into the greater consciousness, not loss of your individualization, as you understand it, but a regaining of your concept of you being the Whole and you being the individual.

You grow, do you not, on Earth from childhood into adulthood and adapt and take on a persona, and you are defined by what you have grown into believing to be true: this is you, this name is you, this family unit is you, this work is you. One of the functions of the nested spiritual spheres is to slowly shake you out of that individual persona and to re-invest you with the spiritual persona that has always been yours but which you have forgotten about and put aside. Many people believe that when you progress to the spiritual realms you will be who you are here. Strictly, yes, you will be …but only as part of the sum of the personalities that you have had, and emerging through those personalities will again come the true spirit personality of who you are. So you will look from the vantage point of the spiritual spheres at your current personality and realize that it is just one facet or one opportunity to learn and nothing more. This may sound disturbing and frightening to you but the change is so gradual that it can again be likened to that change between childhood and adulthood that creeps up on you, that is there before you know it and is so slight and so gentle that you do not realize a change is taking place. You are not who you appear to be today: your name is a reference point on Earth, your personality is an aspect of the true you that you are utilizing in physical consciousness for a purpose.

The rate at which you progress through the spiritual spheres depends on many factors. It depends on your resistance, for one thing. Many people are resistant to moving onwards because they are frightened of change, and this is an effect of the physical Field, which is saying to them, ‘Don’t change!’ If they have lived their lives only on a physical level for a lifetime it is very difficult for them to change because they are used to the Field dictating their choices, even though they do not know that that is taking place.

Many people arrive in the spiritual worlds, as we have said, and do not wish to change; they wish to get back to the Field and they wish to remain as they always have been – and for them progress is relatively slow. There are other souls who have investigated spiritual possibilities within and outside of themselves and there exists within those souls an eagerness to see what is next. With those souls the journey is far easier and they progress away from the initial physical plane much more rapidly than those souls who wish to come back and be dictated to by the Field once again. Then there are those souls who, fairly instantly upon leaving the physical plane, regain knowledge of who they were before they came to the earth plane. For them it is simply a matter of remembering and re-instating their personality as an advanced soul and then gaining instant admission to the sphere from which they have come and to which they can gain entry again.

The Sphere of Contemplation

Joseph: What lies beyond the planes we have described thus far?

…For many souls there is that point where they wish to go onward; not back to the Earth, but onwards…

What lies beyond?

Contemplation is one of the things that lies beyond. It is something we often say to you: ‘Be quiet. Contemplate. Think from your heart-mind. Divest yourself of the Earth experience and go within to contact that which you really are,’ and there is a great opportunity to do this once you have left the earth plane.

There is a sphere of contemplation, and this is a place that souls go to simply by wanting to be there, and return from simply by wanting to come back from it. It is a sphere of peace and is one of our great cleansing opportunities or places, because in this sphere there is quiet. In this sphere time, as you understand it, doesn’t exist – it stands still and is apart from that sphere, so that spirits wishing to enter it can do so at one point in their consciousness, spend a year or a thousand years there then return to the sphere they came from at the same point they left it all that time ago …you see how time does not exist in the sphere of contemplation?

The purpose of the sphere of contemplation is just that: to examine in quiet, in peace, in comfort and in love every aspect of the soul’s existence to that point, and to examine it dispassionately and look at it slowly to appreciate fully what each experience of the soul’s existence has been for. Nothing is wasted, and in the sphere of contemplation there is a great joy when you look at some aspect of your immediate past life (or previous lives before that) and realize that there was absolute meaning to each moment – that wonderful moment when you can say, ‘That is what it was about!’

You can view those aspects of physicality by yourself or you are allowed to view them with help from other guides and elevated souls. You can view them with the ‘dark glasses’ taken off so, for example, if you are looking at a particularly challenging moment in your earthly life, you can view that moment again but see the influences that were around it; see the people who were advising you from the higher spheres; see the effect you were having in terms of Light-energy on other people and they on you; see the strands of karma and how they were interweaving or loosening themselves from you at that point; and also see your placement in the scheme of all physicality and how your choices and actions at that point affected everyone else’s, both positively and negatively. The sphere of contemplation is a wonderful, wonderful cleansing station.

It is also somewhere where spirits go, to consider what to do next and to consider their actions since they have been in the spiritual spheres, because, of course, experience and the effects of that experience go onwards far beyond the physical plane. Imagine the joy of being able to go to a place and consider your decision about what you want to do next for as long as you want to consider it, to make absolutely sure that that is what you do or don’t want to do, and to project forwards through your own thoughts – to see the effects your decision will have on yourself and others before you ever take it.

The sphere of contemplation is a state of mind rather than a landscape. It is somewhere that souls can visit whilst still remaining ‘corporeally’ (or as an energy-body) within the sphere that they are harmonizing with. In other words, if you wished to visit the sphere of contemplation, you could do so by sitting in the room you have created within the sphere that you are happy with and simply becoming quiet and giving out a message to all those who would contact you that you are now going to enter the sphere of contemplation. You then become still …and you are there. You are there in an atmosphere that will allow you to view and contemplate your existence, always knowing that, whilst you are doing so, you are imbued with God-energy and that God is with you, helping you to see the effects that your consciousness and existence has had on yourself and others, and helping you to make the decisions that will next have the best effect on yourself, the others around you and those on the lower spheres that lead back to the physicality of the Earth.

The sphere of contemplation is beyond description in physical terms. It is a state of spiritual mind; there is no physicality to it and yet it exists. A difficult concept to transfer to you this morning that there is a sphere that exists, that is a place, and yet it is a place of perusal and of viewing that does not exist as a landscape, as a set of buildings or as an horizon. It simply exists as a sphere with purpose for the soul who wishes to look backwards and to go forwards.

It is a sphere that souls on the first steps of spirituality visit increasingly, once we have convinced them that there is nothing to be frightened of in visiting that place. Always, because of the earth plane, we have a struggle with newcomers and those who have not revisited and taken on their spiritual identity again. Always we have a problem convincing souls that, if they go to somewhere such as the sphere of contemplation, they will not lose themselves; they will not lose consciousness; they will not lose their individuality, and that it is not an absorption or a void.

Greater consciousness is enhanced consciousness, and enhanced consciousness puts into perspective the earthly personality. There comes a point in a soul’s journey when that soul views the earthly personality for what it is and realizes that it is only stripping itself temporarily of a ‘suit of clothes’ and that its consciousness contains that personality and so much more – and that is a joyous thing and not something to be frightened of.

The sphere of contemplation is, if you like, a stepping stone to the greater spheres. It is a cleansing sphere but it is also a great comforting sphere. It heals wounds because those souls who are brave enough to visit it discover that there is nothing to fear and also discover that their darkest times on Earth amounted to something, were important, and the growth or blossoms from those darkest times can then be taken forwards. Until that time – until they have visited that sphere – they cannot because they exist as wounds within the psyche of the soul. Visits to the sphere of contemplation are essential so that souls can come to terms with those wounds that still exist within them because of the negative and painful experiences they had whilst on Earth.

The sphere of contemplation is a sphere of change because it turns everything on its head and the challenges of life are seen as the most exquisite of opportunities for growth that they actually are and were.

David: Joseph, is the sphere of contemplation a construct for the initial spiritual planes after the physical or is it made use of by the higher planes beyond that?

Joseph: It is a sphere that has entry levels, has a middle level and has an upper level and souls (whatever their stature) have an intense and vital need for contemplation. As life progresses and as the cleansing process takes place, understanding increases but with none of the rush that you experience on Earth – souls do not rush to flee, via the spheres, into greater consciousness. They approach their evolution slowly because they want to get things right, because they want to take the right decisions for themselves and for everyone else around them, both on the earth plane and in the successive spheres. At every stage when great life changes come, which they continue to do (changes in point of view, changes in capability, changes in perceived location, changes in mission, in work and in expression) then those souls retreat from whichever sphere they inhabit into an area of vibrational harmonic within the sphere of contemplation, and spend as much ‘time’ or experience as they wish within that sphere in order to reach a decision.

Again there are times on Earth when certain guides ‘disappear’ for a while or certain spiritual communicators are no longer present and have seemingly gone. They have not disappeared; they have, very often, entered the sphere of contemplation at a certain level in order to figure things out and to commune with themselves, their true desires and their God. If only on Earth people would enter into the lower levels of the sphere of contemplation, which, of course, they do, as the doorway or periphery of the sphere of contemplation opens when meditation takes place. If only there was not the rush on the earth plane and decisions were made after first having meditated upon them and gained inner wisdom to understand the effects of each decision upon the individual soul wanting to make that decision (or not), the souls around that soul …and the whole of the Earth.

So, yes, higher or more evolved souls enter into the sphere of contemplation – in fact they do so more than the souls on the lower levels because there is more to contemplate! The glories of Creation and the wonders of physicality and spirituality are revealed more to them as they exit the experience of the earth plane. …A vast Universe or multi-verse of opportunities! So much that can be achieved, so much that can be enjoyed, so much that can be experienced:

Which way for now?

What do I want to do?

Do I want to advance beyond the people that I love or wait for them to reach my level… and then we move on together?

Do I want to concentrate my abilities into observation of Creation or Creation itself?

Do I wish to experience in physicality again in another area of life on a physical level but not the Earth, or do I wish to go forwards into pure energy where I will only contemplate having a spiritual human form when I come back to visit those people I want to communicate with?

…So many decisions, but arrived at by becoming still and entering a period of contemplation. You are a soul and, as a soul, you have the answer to every problem and to every difficulty that you come across in life but only when you contemplate them – not investing them with power but looking at them and asking what you really think about them and what you should do in those circumstances — then you have the answer to everything. If only people would contemplate, if only people would meditate, if only people would stop when they find themselves in difficulty and take those difficulties into God-consciousness and look at them and ask and think quietly and calmly what they should do next.

Each of you has all the time in the world and beyond the world and beyond that – all the time!
