Buildings Or Bases On Ceres?

Ceres Occator Crater main 4 postCeres is the largest object in the asteroid belt that lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Its diameter is approximately 945 kilometers or 590 miles making it the largest of the dwarf planets within the orbit of Neptune.

By definition a dwarf planet is spherical and travels in an orbit around the Sun. Ceres is also the closest dwarf planet to the Sun and the only one located in the inner solar system.

Dawn spacecraftNASA’s Dawn spacecraft continues to capture breathtaking images of Ceres as the spacecraft orbits around the dwarf planet.

New images, which were recently released by NASA, were taken in October, 2016, during the spacecraft’s fifth orbit.

One of the photos shows the Occator Crater, which is 57 miles wide and 2.5 miles deep.

PIA21078_hiresWith the recent images being released that can be seen in greater detail here, and with further analysis, it seems that there are structures being detected indicating that there are large bases or buildings within the vicinity of Occator Crator.
